HISTORY
A new recruit to the Green Lantern Corps, Cundiff Cood hailed from the planet Noc'Sag, the same homeworld as Galius Zed. A year earlier, another member of their species had been a member of the Green Lantern Corps, but was killed battling Superboy-Prime in the so-called Infinite Crisis.
Following the explosive abduction of Ion AKA Kyle Rayner, Cundiff Cood and a number of fellow Green Lanterns ventured out from behind the hole in Oa's protective armor. Cundiff Cood was the first to fall as the Sinestro Corps sniper, Bedovian, sent a yellow energy blast through Cood's head, killing the rookie Lantern instantly. - Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special #1
Cundiff Cood was memorialized in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa. - Green Lantern/Sinestro Corps Secret Files #1

During the event known as the Blackest Night, black rings desecrated the Crypts. The ring placed itself upon his corpse, downloaded all of his memories and created a duplicate of his body that rose from the grave as a member of the Black Lantern Corps. -Blackest Night #1
