HISTORY

The Green Lantern of Sector 1417, Jewelius Blak, went to Korugar and chose Sinestro as her apprentice.

Sinestro patterned himself after her, and he was summoned by the Guardians of the Universe to be the sector's Green Lantern when she was disabled.

Jewelius Blak was memorialized in the Crypts of the Green Lantern Corps on Oa.

GLCWP NOTE

It makes me wonder why, out of all the other worlds in Sector 1417, the Guardians would let a Green Lantern visit Korugar. It's a fairly quiet world, and it's the one world that has the potential to wipe out the Green Lantern Corps, just by being on the receiving end of a power ring attack. Why didn't they just isolate Korugar (from themselves and the Corps at least) as a form of "benevolent protection"?

"Hey Guardians, I met the great guys who say they used to date your ex-girlfriends. I'm going to sign one up for the Corps!"
