OVERVIEW
Mother Mercy is a sentient plant and mother of the Black Mercy plants.
HISTORY
Mother Mercy originally lived at the bottom of the sea on her planet, but when a mortally wounded alien fell from the skies she rose to the surface and found she was able to tap into the alien's center of thought and transmit personal images of pleasure and desires which in turn would release neuro-dampeners in the aliens body allowing it to die in peace.
Mother Mercy realized that her place in the grand design in the universe was to ease the pain and suffering of others and she began seeding her children, the Black Mercy plants, which upon reaching maturity were sent to the stars to fullfill this mission. At one point the planet was discovered by the alien Mongul who harvested her children and used them for his own evil ends and later still Mongul's son Mongul II used his Sinestro Corps rings to manipulate Mother Mercy and her offspring.
POWERS AND WEAPONS
As a member of the Green Lantern Corps, Mother Mercy possesses a power ring and power battery.
As a former member of the Sinestro Corps, Mother Mercy briefly possessed a yellow power ring and power battery.
