Any sign of a "master DCU Chronology"?

Is there any way to search indexed comics for specific characters?

=Only by entering the name into the Search field and comb-searching the results.

Even better you can open the character's profile page and click "What links here" and you will get a list of all the issues (and profiles) that link to the ccharacter. Unfortunately the list is ordered in order of page creation. Personally I would have preferred an alphabetical list, but as far as I know I can't force the wiki to do that. --Tenzel Kim 19:25, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

=For some years, I have been engaged in building a character guide. It has no chronological information but follows the publications. So far 360 publications (series, minis, specials) covering some 7000 issues have been entered, resulting in 63000 listings. That´s just 16 per cent of the DC total, but anything helps. So, if you want specific character data give me a ring. --FrankFlynn61 08:33, 22 March 2011 (UTC)

That sounds interesting and while it might not be 100% accurate as some stories have to be moved around a bit it could probably be of a great deal of help. I'm personally working on a master DCU chronology sheet in excel and have tried all sorts of different ways to set it up properly and think I have finally found a way that is fairly easy to understand. Unfortunately it is very much in the early stages as I've done a lot of different lists over the years, and since they have been done is as many different ways combining it takes A LOT of time and I find discrepancies that I have to reinvestigate and fix. Whenever I start work on the sheet I end up burning myself out fairly quick. I've tried making a google spreadsheet version of the document so that we could have a number of people working on it but unfortunately the formatting options are not as good as in excel.
Let me see if I can whip something up that I can show you all so that we can discuss how to include issues that have not been fully investigated but that is known to take place at least after some specific issue for instance.--Tenzel Kim 19:25, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
It is certainly not accurate in a chronological sort of way, but tells you which issue a character appeared in. So it might be helpful in tracking down missing appearances.
Chronology is not my strong suit; I am more historically minded, as you know. --FrankFlynn61 19:46, 22 March 2011 (UTC)
