- Four weeks pass between pages 9 and 10. Aquaman appears in both sections, all other characters only in the second.
Synopsis: - Tragedy has struck San Diego - the zoo and everything west of that point have sunk into the ocean, with the loss of four thousand lives. Four weeks after the tragedy, a young boy resurfaces from the waves and is rushed to hospital, but dies on route. When the doctors and Aquaman carry out an autopsy, they discover that the boy's physiology has been altered for water-breathing - he has gills instead of lungs, and it was coming out of the ocean that killed him, not his long stay in it.
