Comment(s):

This story takes place in two sections; the first attack of The Phantom of the Fair on the World's Fair opening on April 30th, 1939 and where the bulk of the story takes place, June 9-10, 1939.
Due to the effects of the Crisis and Zero Hour on the history of the DC Universe, many parts of the story are questionable as canon.
Post-Crisis, Wes Dodds had already been active as The Sandman for nearly a year and a half before this story (as shown in Sandman Mystery Theatre), using his own version of a "gas gun".
Post-Crisis, Lee Travis' personal history has been altered so that he may not have been childhood companion and contemporary college classmates with Wes Dodds.
The Queen Elizabeth shown in this story is the mother of the present Queen of England.
